Then look no further - we are looking for a keen and ambitious Energy Support Officer who has an eye for detail and excellent computer skills to join our great team here at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board which provides health care services across the 3 council boundaries of Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with strong IT skills (especially around data manipulation, spreadsheets and databases), who has a technical background and a proactive approach to reducing the Health Board's consumption of utilities and carbon emissions, whilst working within a challenging financial environment.
Your role as the Energy Support Officer, based at Dewi Sant Health Park in Pontypridd, will support the Energy & Carbon Manager to manage, monitor and reduce the complex energy demands of our property portfolio comprising 60 properties including 3 major hospitals. As such, the ability to be flexible and mobile in order to visit properties across the Health Board is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Energy Manager in the provision of professional energy and utility management and monitoring throughout all Health Board premises, including utility data validation processing and analysis, the identification implementation and management of energy conservation programmes; to support regulatory compliance and all matters relating to the Environment Agency's Energy Efficiency Scheme and other Government directives.

Qualifications
Essential
- Apprenticeship trained City and Guilds /ONC in electrical/mechanical engineering plus relevant experience Qualification in Building or Engineering Services.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems.
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualification in Energy Management. Specialist maintenance knowledge to degree level
Desirable
- Competent Person in at least three disciplines e.g. low voltage and water hygiene, ventilation etc.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Computer and database/spreadsheet Literacy. Knowledge of administrative procedures including IT systems, acquired via formal training or experience. Extensive experience in database population, reporting and database management.
Desirable
- Experience of working within a health care environment on electrical and mechanical services. Experience of using/ operating building management software.
