Job summary

Join OMS in 2025 as we seek event medical staff of all skills levels to work with us at exciting events across Gloucestershire, Bristol and Wales.

We are looking for Paramedics, AAP's, IHCD tech's, ECA's, Frec 5's, 4's and 3's, student paramedics, first aiders with AED training and medical gas training and first responders.

We work at a wide selection of events that offer an opportunity to use and practice skills. It's a great chance for team members to learn from professionals and to work in a friendly, supportive team environment.

Main duties of the job

It will be your job to deliver pre hospital patient care in an event setting within your qualifications clinical scope of practice.

You will need to have a friendly and positive approach to work and be able to be pro-active and professional at all times.

You will need to respond to emergency and non emergency requests in an event setting calmly and efficiently with professionalism.

You will follow OMS's policies, procedures and protocols.

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • To apply the knowledge and skills necessary to perform event medic duties within your clinical scope of practice
  • To show confidence working independently and as part of a team
  • To respond to requests calmly and efficiently while assessing the extent of an injury or illness to determine the next steps needed.
  • To complete all relevant paperwork as required including PRF's, Incident report forms etc
  • To work co-operatively with patients, customers and other staff members
  • To manage radio communications proficiently
  • To follow all OMS policies, procedures and protocols at all times
  • To be friendly, pro-active and professional
  • To show flexibility and positivity

Qualifications

Essential

  • We are recruiting staff at all grades including:
  • HCPC registered paramedics
  • Associate Ambulance Practitioners (AAP's)
  • Emergency medical technicians (IHCD)
  • Emergency Care Assistants
  • Frec 5
  • Frec 4
  • Frec 3
  • Student paramedics
  • First responders
  • First aiders with AED and medical gas qualifications
  • Proof of qualification will be required
  • Essential criteria for all candidates:
  • - Full Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points ( Driving licence check will be carried out)
  • - Enhanced DBS check
  • - References and work history
  • - Health Declaration

Desirable

  • - A blue light driving qualification is desirable
  • - Proof of CPD
