An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to establish a new executive portfolio to support the organisation's ambition to continuously develop our approach to meeting the health needs of our population, through sustainable transformational leadership.

The Director of Transformation, Planning and Improvement is an exciting new position created as a result of the Trust Board's commitment to ensuring that the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust continues to develop high quality and sustainable services, through embedding a culture of improvement and aligning our plans to strategic delivery for the benefit of the population we serve.

Main duties of the job

As the successful candidate you will have a proven track record of the delivery of strategic transformation improvement and innovation models at scale. You will be responsible for the delivery of a cutting edge and high-quality programme management office approach to deliver Transformation, Planning and Improvement across our services. You will be an innovative, inspiring and transformational leader, who can create a compelling and inclusive vision that creates followership across the organisation.

You will have the drive and ambition to deliver a complex, challenging and exciting agenda whilst promoting an organisational culture in line with the Trust's Vision and Values. You will positively engage colleagues, service users and other stakeholders within Place and ICB, in sustainable quality improvement and service transformation.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • oEducated to degree level
  • oMaster's level degree or post graduate qualification or equivalent level of experience in a similar role
  • oEvidence of continuing professional development.
  • oRelevant accredited improvement methodology training, such as IHI model for improvement, Lean Management, Six, Sigma, etc..

Experience

Essential

  • oSignificant experience at Board level in a healthcare or another large complex public/private organisation
  • oExtensive knowledge and experience of using innovation and improvement methodologies to effect organisational transformation at a senior influencing level.
  • oProven track record of the delivery of strategic transformation improvement and innovation models at scale.
  • oSignificant experience of effectively and compassionately leading and managing high performing teams.
  • oEvidence of successful collaborative working with other health and care partner organisations.
  • oExtensive experience of delivering effective transformation and improvement programmes including through partnerships
  • oExperience of developing strategic plans, both for an organisation and in conjunction with strategic partners
  • oHigh level of leadership competency with the ability to lead and manage change in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • oEvidence of significant experience in leading and influencing professional groups to secure cross-system change.
  • oEvidence of significant experience in building effective networks across health and social care
  • oExperience in establishing a clear strategic vision and direction, and translating this into successful outcomes for staff and patients.
  • oDemonstrable experience and commitment to Inclusion
