Main duties of the job

As a Food and Beverage Team Member at Avery Healthcare, you will be responsible for supporting the dining service and assisting residents with their meals. Your duties will include helping residents choose their meal options, ensuring dining tables are set properly, keeping the front of house clean and well-presented, and replenishing fresh cakes, biscuits, finger foods, and fruit throughout the day. You will also need to be aware of residents' dietary requirements. To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene, compassion, and a commitment to delivering excellent culinary services to the residents.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Food and Beverage Team Member will be to support with the dining service and assisting residents with their meals.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the residents with choosing their meal options at the time of dining.
  • Ensuring that dining tables are set in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
  • Keeping front of house clean, tidy and well-presented, and that dirty crockery is removed and replenished throughout the day.
  • Ensuring fresh homemade cakes/biscuits are accessible in the bistro areas are replenished throughout the day as well as finger food and fresh fruit options.
  • Being aware of residents dietary requirements.

Qualifications

Essential

  • While previous experience in a similar setting, such as a restaurant or hotel, would be desirable, a basic Food Hygiene Certificate would also be beneficial. The most important qualities for this role are demonstrating high standards of personal hygiene, compassion, and a commitment to delivering excellent culinary services to the residents.
