PART-TIME VACANCY FOR A MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time medical receptionist to join our ever growing team here at Washingborough Family Practice.
The post is for 18 hours per week:
Monday 1.00pm - 8.00pm
Tuesday 1.15pm - 6.30pm
Thursday 7:45am 1:30pm
The successful applicant will be required to cover for sickness and holidays.
Salary will be dependant on qualifications and experience.
Experience with SystmOne is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
The successful candidate will be eligible to join the NHS Pension Scheme.
Main duties of the job
Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team.
Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies.
Process repeat prescriptions, both paper and on line.
Process new patient registrations and record all relevant information.
About us
We are a rural practice just outside of Lincoln. The practice has a list size of approximately 9000 patients. We are a training practice with 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, an Assistant Practitioner and a Phlebotomist. The admin team consists of a Practice Manager, a Deputy Manager, a Reception Manager, Receptionists and Secretaries. The practice has a friendly, family feel to it.

Friday 1:15pm 7:00pm

The purpose of the role is:

Duties and responsiblities include:
Opening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols.
Maintaining and monitoring the Practice appointments system
Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail.
Taking messages and passing on information.
Handling general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures.
Dealing with actions requested by the GPs/Nurses from incoming post/results.
Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines
Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures.
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
Clearing and re-stock consulting rooms as required.
Ordering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies.
Keeping the reception area, noticeboards, and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter.
Providing cover for members of the Reception/Administrative Team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
Assisting Practice Manager and Deputy Manager in routine clerical/administrative duties.
Attending Meetings/training as necessary.
Handling and recording payment for private services.

- Previous systmone experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
