Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiasticHealthcare Assistant (HCA)to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in healthcare and to develop within primary care. The successful candidate will work alongside our GPs, nurses, and wider healthcare team to support patient care.

Main duties of the job

As a vital part of the clinical team, theHealthcare Assistant (HCA)supports the practice by delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals. The role involves assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

  • ECGs & Other Diagnostic Support
  • Infection Control & Equipment Maintenance
  • Stock Management

The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

About us

We are a large, friendly, forward thinking practice with just under 14000 patients. We have a multi skilled team of GP's, Nurse, HCA's and a large admin team.

Job responsibilities

Carrying out basic health checks (blood pressure, pulse, weight, height, BMI)

Assisting with chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, IHD, AF, heart failure,hypertension reviews)

Administering flu and other vaccinations

Providing lifestyle advice

Conducting NHS Health Checks

Supporting infection control and health promotion initiatives

Processing samples and maintaining clinical equipment

Administrative tasks to support patient care

Administrative commitment to support the practice achieve targets in QOF/LCS

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy
  • Have you completed the Care certificate
