Job summary
This role of Head of Housekeeping at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK, offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the housekeeping and laundry teams across the organization's national network of over 100 homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring best practices, implementing consistent policies and procedures, and driving continuous improvement to deliver exceptional standards of cleanliness and customer service.
Main duties of the job
As the Head of Housekeeping, you will be responsible for overseeing the Housekeeping & Laundry Department to ensure best practice and company policy & procedures are being adhered to. You will develop a consistent approach throughout the Avery Group, whilst improving baseline training & development for team members. Working with agreed suppliers, you will ensure the organization has the best products for the best results. Other key responsibilities include working with the Director of Resident Experience to develop and implement a housekeeping & laundry strategy, overseeing and supporting the laundry & housekeeping teams across all Avery Group homes, and ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements.

If this sounds like the place for you, wed love to hear from you!ABOUT THE ROLEThe role of Head of Housekeeping will be to oversee the Housekeeping & Laundry Department to ensure best practice and company policy & procedures are being adhered to. You will develop a consistent approach throughout the Avery Group, whilst improving baseline training & development for team members. Working with agreed suppliers, you will ensure we have the best products for the best resultsOther responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Director of Resident Experience to develop and implement a housekeeping & laundry strategy for the Avery Group.
- Developing and working with suppliers to create a standard working practice for the Avery Group.
- Overseeing and be the first point of contact for all Avery Group homes laundry & housekeeping teams to provide help and support.
- Working with the compliance team to ensure our internal audit is fit for purpose for housekeeping & laundry, following up with the homes on key action plans arising from the audit to drive compliance and adherence to health & safety requirements.
- Supporting with the induction training for all new Head Housekeepers at home level
- Being an ambassador of the Avery Group values and to reinforce and support the implementation of the behavioural change programme within all training delivered.
- Experience of working and managing in a similar role across multi sites
- Experience of successfully leading change management programmes
- Ability to analyse results, draw conclusions and suggest new concepts to drive and improve performance
- Ability to form strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers
- Experience of delivering presentations to different audiences
- A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Essential
- To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have experience of working and managing in a similar role across multi-sites, as well as demonstrating the ability to lead change management programmes, analyse results, and form strong relationships with key stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills are also essential.
