Job summary
As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure the care home has a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. You'll be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, from fixing a leaky tap to caring for the gardens and grounds. This role requires hands-on experience in property maintenance, at least one trade skill, and the ability to lead a team and support the General Manager with budget planning.
Main duties of the job

Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support. You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. That could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting some new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.
