Job summary
NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership provides Clinical Logistics Transport Services across all Health Boards in Wales via its Health Courier Service, and is seeking Driver/Storekeeper staff to join this service based in the Wrexham Area, serving the North Wales Area (Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board) .
On average, the service sorts (via its own mail sorting hubs), delivers and collects over 120,000 items of mail/medical notes per week, and transports in excess of 5 million movements of samples of Blood Products and Pathology in accordance with Accord Dangereux Routier, Good Manufacturing Practice & legislative requirements per year. Our core services operates between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. However, we do operate a small range of services 24 hours a day.
Main duties of the job
As a Health Courier Service Driver/Storekeeper you will be responsible for stock items in stores centres and also for the safe and secure transport, distribution and replenishment of NHS Pathology, Blood/Blood Products, Secure and Non-Secure Stationery, Laundry, Mail/Records and Stock items such as medical consumables (e.g. needles/syringes/containers) that are distributed to primary health care sites; (Hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies, opticians, dental surgeries) across NHS Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
