Job summary
Barton Family Practice is looking to expand their team with a suitable qualified Health Care Assistant (HCA).
The post holder will work under supervision of the Lead Nurse and will undertake tasks and duties delegated by the Nursing/GP team.
Main duties of the job
As a vital part of the clinical team, the Healthcare Assistant (HCA) supports the practice by delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of the Lead Nurse. The role involves assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Purpose built premises with District Nurses, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, CBT therapists on site

Research practice
4 Partners ,Clinical Pharmacist, Nurse Practitioner, 2 Nurses, Nurse Associate, HCA, and Phlebotomist
Well organised reception and Admin team
EMIS Web, AccuRx, DOCMAN 10 and workflow management
Job responsibilities
Carrying out basic health checks (blood pressure, pulse, weight, height, BMI)
Assisting with chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, IHD, AF, heart failure,hypertension reviews)
Administering flu and other vaccinations
Providing lifestyle advice
Supporting infection control and health promotion initiatives
Processing samples and maintaining clinical equipment
Administrative tasks to support patient care
Administrative commitment to support the practice achieve targets in QOF
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within a nursing team
- Experience of working in a GP practice
Desirable
- Experience in using EMIS, Accurx, Docman
Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
- Qualified in Phlebotomy
