Job summary
If you are an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking to expand your skills and knowledge into complex clinical care or if you already have complex care experience, this could be the perfect job role for you!
We are looking for compassionate and committed Healthcare Assistants in Darlington, who are passionate about delivering the highest quality one-to-one care for our service user, building positive relationships with them and their family while enabling them to live as independently as possible in his family home.
Meet our service user
Our service user is a gentleman in his early 40s, who lives in Darlington with his family and requires support with his complex care needs throughout the day and night on a 1:1 basis.
He is a big fan of rugby and cricket and enjoys attending the home matches. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, friends, and care team, enjoys listening to music, watching his favourite films and visiting the cinema.
Our service user has a vibrant force that keeps the spirit of his local community alive and thriving. He shows a genuine passion for bringing people together and is currently going through the process of campaigning to become a local councillor.
Throughout the night you will provide support with his personal care, repositioning, making clinical observations, and attending to his care needs when required. You will provide a calming environment to promote a restful nights sleep.
Main duties of the job
Our ideal care team will need a Valid Drivers Licence as our service user does have an adapted vehicle that you will be required to drive to support him in accessing the local community
Experience working with the following clinical needs is desirable, however is not essential to be considered for this role:
- Tracheostomy Care
- Ventilation Management
- Spinal Injury Awareness
- Oral suctioning
- Physiotherapy
We have the following shifts available;
- Part Time Days and Nights
- 2 shifts per week
- Days: 8:30am - 10:30pm
- Nights: 9:45pm - 9:00am and 10:00pm - 9:30am
- Must be Flexible to Work Days and Nights
Take a look at our payrates:
Weekdays: £13.00 per hour (Approx. £182 per 14 hour shift)
Weeknights: £13.50 per hour (Approx. £155.25 per 11.5-hour shift)
Weekends: £14.00 per hour (Approx. £196.00 per 14-hour shifts)
Bank Holiday: £15.00 per hour (Approx. £210 per 14- hour shift)

Job responsibilities
The role of a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is to work without direct supervision in the home of the service user providing care and support including personal, social, and domestic support whilst adhering to the service users individual care and support plan.
The aim of the position is to enable service users to remain safely in their own home with as much independence as possible.
Alongside providing care and support in a professional, discreet, and caring manner, always ensuring the service users right to privacy and dignity is maintained
