Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly patient centred team at Salisbury Fertility Centre. A well-established centre of 20 years, offering a full range of laboratory diagnostic and assisted conception techniques, including IVF, ICSI, microTESE, egg, sperm & embryo cryopreservation, including a large NHS Fertility Preservation program, along with an active egg and embryo donation programs. Salisbury Fertility Centre also runs a patient embryo research program with Manchester University Hospital Trust. We are involved as a training centre for the national Scientist Training Program' having successfully mentored 10 graduates within the scheme.
The applicant will provide administrative support to all relevant aspects of the clinical laboratory treatments as required, under the supervision and direction of clinical scientists and the reproductive practitioner. They will be a flexible member of the team providing high quality administrative services with excellent attention to detail. The candidate must have a minimum of GCSE Maths, English and Science subject(s) or equivalent, and good IT/keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages, spreadsheets, presentation packages and databases. An understanding of medical terminology, previous experience of working in a healthcare or laboratory setting, relevant and/or transferable skills, any patient contact experience and familiarity with the HFEA Code of Practice is desirable.
Main duties of the job
Working under the guidance of the Clinical Scientists, the Reproductive Science Associate, the pre-registrant Clinical Scientist trainee(s) and the Salisbury Fertility Centre (SFC) team:
- To contribute to the effective delivery of fertility investigations and treatments at Salisbury Fertility Centre.
- To provide administrative support to the cryostorage facility (frozen eggs/ sperm/ embryos).
- To contribute to the organisation and administration of the clinical and laboratory records at Salisbury Fertility Centre.
- To support the embryologists by maintaining accurate records of laboratory procedures.
- To contribute to the Quality Management System at Salisbury Fertility Centre.
- To contribute to the regulatory requirements of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) and other organisations which may regulate the service.
- To assist with the digital transformation of the clinic.
