Job summary
We currently have an opportunity within our Portering Services team within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board for an enthusiastic, motivated individual.
The Hotel Services Assistant Manager - Portering will be responsible for approximately 105 members of staff, in the absence of the Facilities Manager - Portering & Domestics and will be required to ensure service user satisfaction by delivery of a service that is of the highest possible quality, making best use of available resources.
They will be responsible for the Statutory Compliance within the Central area, under the direction of the Facilities Manager - Portering & Domestics.
Effective communication with service users and assigned staff will be of paramount importance to ensure service satisfaction and good working relationships.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Effective management of the whole range of Operational Portering Services and delegated budgets, within own area of responsibility, to ensure services are provided within existing resources.
Responsible for effective and continuous monitoring of service quality, standards and user satisfaction within the criteria of:
- Budget parameters.
- Portering Standard Operating Procedures/Codes of Practice.
- Health Board/Hospital Policies & Procedures.
- Completion and Authorisation of Payroll.
- Management of the digital task management system.
- Ensure the appropriate conduct of assigned staff during the course of their duties in line with Code of Conduct.
- Plan, organise and manage Portering services to ensure quality and services for possible improvements and potential cost reductions in conjunction with the Facilities Manager.
- Undertake tasks under the remit of People Services this may include conducting investigations, compiling sometimes complex reports containing both strictly confidential and sensitive information and with human resources present findings to a disciplinary panel.
