An exciting opportunity for a part time Housekeeper has arisen to join our small but dedicated team of Housekeepers as we expand our Hospice site.
The Housekeeping provision is operated over 7 days and worked on a 6 week rota. All Housekeeping staff are required to work a 25 hour week split over five, five hour days and work two weekends out of six. Shift times are as follows; 6.00am -11.00am / 09.30am 2.30pm / 1.30pm 6.30pm please note we are unable to offer set shift times.

Main duties of the job
As part of the Housekeeping team, you will maintain high standards of cleanliness within the Hospice, providing a safe clean environment for patients, visitors and staff within our Wellbeing Centre, Clinical and Non-Clinical areas in line with the agreed cleaning schedule. Duties will include vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors and the emptying of bins.
The successful candidate will be organised and hard-working who will be reliable, flexible and a good team player who has good interpersonal and communication skills. Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage and an NVQ 2 in infection control is desirable, however full training will be provided.

Job responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Working in calibration with other team members, working together to meet NHS cleanliness and continuously achieving high standards;
- Clean, dust, vacuum or mop all accessible areas of the Hospice including all clinical areas, all offices, communal spaces, including kitchens and toilets.
- Empty all waste bins / baskets including recycling bins where applicable.
- Conduct exit cleans when patient and relative rooms become vacant.
- Check and replenish supplies of hand towels, soap, toilet rolls, washing up liquids and all sanitizing dispensers throughout our buildings.
- Replenish cleaning trolley daily, ensuring to change mop heads, and replenishing cloths.
- Maintain an accurate record of cleaning using the daily cleaning schedule, highlighting any health and safety or maintenance issues.
- Check cleaning stock levels and order necessary materials when required.
- Undertake deep cleaning of high risk areas as guided by the Deep Clean schedule.
- Check and record all fridge temperatures on a daily basis.
- Keep the laundry area clean and tidy, maintaining linen stocks, ordering patient linen on a weekly basis to meet requirements.
- Act as point of contact for House Keeping volunteers
- Act as an infection control champion
- Comply with relevant Hospice policies including Infection Control, Health & Safety etc.
- Undertake all Housekeeping duties in accordance with the NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness
- Any other relevant duties as requested by your line manager, or senior members of the clinical or management teams.

Desirable
- Should hold COSHH certification and should attend and pass all mandatory training. Should hold NVQ 2 in Infection Control. Most skills can be learnt on the job.
