Job summary

This exciting opportunity has come through the expansion of support and development of various Clinical Imaging Systems.

Offering the opportunity to contribute maintain and improve workflows for patients and staff in relation to Clinical Imaging Systems.

Adapting and implementing new workflows and systems to support ever improving digital portfolios.

  • Day to day support and administration of clinical systems and patient data stored on clinical systems managed by team.
  • Support in current and future projects and upgrades for current and future systems. Contribute to maintaining and improving workflow whilst maintaining continual high standards.
  • Providing a support service to users of PACS, RIS and all other systems and workflows supported by the team.
  • Working with range of teams both internal and externally to the Trust. Provide a support service for associated imaging systems.
  • Supporting services as part of the role 24/7

Main duties of the job

  1. Maintain the national codes sets on PACS.
  2. Provide a support service to users of the PACS.
  3. Be support for the management of new starters and leavers ensuring that the creation of PACS accounts for new users is done in a timely and secure manner.
  4. Provide support for resolving PACS issues in relation to PACS user accounts and liaising with the ICT response centre as appropriate.
  5. To provide support for checking and correcting clinical patient demographic details on PACS and amalgamating unspecified clinical images.
  6. To provide a service for importing of clinical images on to PACS from outside the Trust.
  7. Provide support for the burning of clinical images on to CD's and the digitization of hard copy film.
  8. To provide a service for the sending of clinical images to other NHS organisations through the Image Exchange Portal.
  9. Support other appropriate maintenance and housekeeping arrangements to support the day to day operation of PACS.
  10. To provide systems and user support for the associated Imaging Systems e.g. TeraRecon and TraumaCAD.
  11. Keep the IT Clinical Systems Manager fully updated on all issues related to PACS.
  12. Liaise with the PACS provider and Local Service Provider with regards to fault logging, arranging preventative maintenance etc

Job responsibilities

  • Provide support in maintaining the national codes sets on RIS.
  • Provide a support service to users of the RIS and VR.
  • Provide support for the management of new starters and leavers ensuring that the creation of RIS accounts for new users is done in a timely and secure manner.
  • Support appropriate maintenance and housekeeping arrangements to support the day to day operation of RIS.
  • Liaise with the RIS provider with regards to fault logging, arranging preventative maintenance etc.
  • Support and provide PACS and RIS training not provided by the training department to clinical end users of the systems.
  • Attend compulsory staff training courses.
  • Undertake any other task, as requested by the ICT Clinical System Manager, in accordance with the grade and nature of the post.
  • Provide Audit log information as and when required by IG governance or the Caldicot Guardian
