Job summary

The Life Rooms is one of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trusts innovative services. Our Social Model of Health is designed to support the prevention and population health agendas by activation through a three-pillar model; learning, social prescribing and community. The three-pillar model enables people to become more activated in their own health; it operates within a social approach that focuses on prevention and the enabling of community and community assets to encourage system change.

We have an exciting opportunity to lead our Learning Pillar for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join The Life Rooms Team as a Learning Delivery Manager This is a permanent position and would be ideal for someone with an education or health improvement background.

The Learning Pillar has recently been reviewed and remodelled to incorporate a graduated approach to learning that is reflective of the components of health activation: knowledge, skills and confidence. The post holder will have the opportunity to shape and implement the new curriculum offer.

The Learning Delivery Manager will be responsible for:

Managing and providing support for the Learning Team across Liverpool and Sefton.

Overseeing delivery of the service specification, ensuring that key performance indicators (KPIs) are met and reported on.

Establishing a graduated approach to learning with an exciting and varied curriculum that supports health activation.

Ensuring that the learning pathways incorporate and are reflective of educational models and learning theories.

Assuring that the service is well governed

Assuring that the service meets quality standards

Assuring that the service is continuously developed and that new opportunities are identified

The Learning Delivery Manager will be expected to travel across Liverpool and Sefton. Their office base will be The Life Rooms Walton. The post holder will benefit from being a part of The Life Rooms services and will have the support of peers within The Life Rooms Wider Leadership Team.

Job responsibilities

1. Provide visible and effective leadership to the learning team, including day to day operational management and programming of delivery to ensure that there is equability of opportunity for members of The Life Rooms across the whole footprint.2. Be responsible for curriculum oversight including evidence-based curriculum design, planning and quality assurance. This includes the identification of appropriate accredited and non accredited courses and ensuring the service can meet the requirements of any external regulatory bodies to maintain continuity of the provision.3. Ensure service processes are in place to support a fully differentiated and accessible learning offer for those with barriers to learning or access including additional needs, language & cultural barriers. This should be apparent in course design, facilitation methods, environmental considerations as well as the support offered to participants thus ensuring that programmes are truly accessible to all.4. Design and establish the learning pathway, based on an understanding and application of educational models and learning theories, to reflect and compliment national policy and legislation relating to health and education. This will incorporate a stepped approach resulting in increased engagement, activation and independence and may include prevention, SEND, early help, NHS long term plan, personalised care and supported self management.5. Strengthen and develop role of service users/members of The Life Rooms in the work of the learning team, including co-creation/production and volunteering to both enhance the programmes and increase opportunities for individuals in their learning journey.6. Develop a flexible approach to outcome measurement that allows the most appropriate measure to be applied to demonstrate effectiveness of specific interventions/courses. These should be regularly reviewed to inform ongoing service development and new initiative whilst ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the offer.7. Regularly scrutinise service data and provide reports for the Senior Leadership Team and other stakeholders on KPIs, performance & outcome measures, highlighting implications for service delivery and action plans to address and issues identified. This will rely on ensuring that robust data collection processes are in place and adhered to within the team.8. Work proactively with the Quality Improvement Partner to identify quality improvement initiatives within the learning provision and contribute towards service evaluation and research to evidence the impact of the learning offer on individuals, the Trust, and the wider health and social care systems.9. Undertake the full range of human resourcing activity for members of the learning team as per service structures including recruitment, supervision, induction and training, sickness management, grievance & disciplinary management etc.21/06/202310. Develop an ongoing staff training programme to ensure a skilled workforce that can deliver a high-quality learning offer which meets the evolving needs of populations. This includes managing the competencies of staff and proactively supporting development.11. Work with partner/community organisations, Life Rooms and Trust colleagues in primary and secondary care services, to develop activity to compliment and enhance the learning offer and support transition pathways for service users & members of The Life Rooms.12. Identify and manage effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders across the health and social care system in regards to learning design and delivery.13. Responsible for the use and development of recording systems as they relate to the learning pillar, ensuring that they are used appropriately to create accurate and timely records.14. Work with further and higher education partners including Hugh Baird College to develop bespoke learning offers for students and staff.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to, or be willing to work towards post graduate level in an education or health-related subject
  • Postgraduate qualification in Leadership and management qualification

  • Physical health related qualification
