Job summary

Doncaster Royal Infirmary (DRI) is a large acute hospital with over 500 beds, a 24-hour Emergency Department, and trauma unit status, all of which is serviced by its own in-house Facilities function. Included within our Facilities function isour linen distribution centre.

The role of Service Assistant (Linen Distribution) plays a key part of our patient experience and the team are responsible for the packing, distribution and re-collection of 3 million pieces of linen each year.

To be considered for this role, candidates must be physically fit and own a full, clean UK driving licence.

Interviews for this role will take place on Thursday 16th January - please be available for this date when applying.

This role may close early due to a high number of applicants.

Main duties of the job

Core working hours

37.5 hours peer week , 07.30-15.30, Monday-Friday, may include bank holidays.

DRIVING LICENCE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE

Enhancements for weekends are offered as part of this role

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of researching Linen Assistant/Driver role.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of professional cleaning, linen, portering services, working with the public, eg, customer services, retail.

Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Numerate and literate
  • Communicates clearly in writing
  • Driving Licence holder

Desirable

  • IT skills - Microsoft.
  • Experience of using software systems/tablet/touch screen devices.

Personal Attributes & Skills

Essential

  • Understands how to maintain good working relationships.
  • Experience of team work.
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of Health & Safety.
  • Give practical examples of safe practices.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of customer care skills.
