Job summary
Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Interventional Neuroradiology based at University Hospital of Wales (UHW), Cardiff, available for a period of six months.
Sessional commitments will be delivered at UHW and will provide an exciting opportunity to further develop existing Neuroradiology and interventional services. The post holder will provide added support for an increasing workload and will deliver a professional and integral service as part of a dynamic and skilled team. The appointment is due to expansion in service needs and to continue to provide excellence across multiple sub-specialties.
Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.
You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary for this post is £116,600 per annum.
Applicants should either be on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register.
Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a team of 48 Consultant Radiologist in sharing provision of imaging services across Cardiff and Vale UHB to support primary, secondary and tertiary care across a range of specialties.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services. Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University's School of Medicine will be expected.
