The role will focus on ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking a variety of routine tasks and checks to keep the facilities fully functional.
Main duties of the job
As a Maintenance Operative, your focus will be to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems. Other responsibilities will include supporting new residents to arrange their rooms, undertaking routine re-decoration, advising on supplies and ordering replacements, and providing out-of-hours emergency service.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
- Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
- Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
- Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
- Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.
ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidatemust:
- Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
- Hold a full driving licence.
- Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
- Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Essential
- To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of one year's experience in a general maintenance or handyperson role, and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade. You should also have a full driving licence and knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
