Job summary
DSFS Ltd are look to recruit into the position of Materials Management Coordinator.
As Materials Management Coordinator responding to the Logistics and Supply chain Manager, you'll be at the heart of our dynamic supply chain operations. You'll liase and coordinate with stake holders and suppliers on a daily basis to ensure correct goods are delivered and sourced in a timely and effective manor
Your day-to-day tasks will be varied in line with our procurement strategy and will form part of our rationalisation process within the Trust and across Derbyshire and the East Midlands
This role is perfect for someone who wishes to progress within the Logistics and procurement department . Plus you'll have the chance to contribute to exciting department improvement and transformational activities, making a real impact on our services.
Applicants should ideally have a sound knowledge of supply chain/logistics practice. You must be confident, articulate and an aspiring leader able to make assess supply chain issues, make appropriate decisions, understand related systems, communicate effectively with customers and also motivate your team. You will also be a key link between your team and your supervisor/senior managers providing support, advice and cover when your supervisor is off site.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the routine replenishment of goods to end user departments in accordance with agreed ward/department catalogues and to the agreed stock levels.
Ensure all reports and reviews are carried out regularly to the same high standard.
Direct supervision and management of the Logistics Assistants across Materials Management.
Support the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager with implementing and extending the use of electronic catalogues and electronic requisitioning across wards and departments at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Direct involvement and responsibility to support the creation and set up of new Materials Management areas.
Liaison with end users and ward/department staff at all levels to ensure materials needs are met and service delivery is maintained.
Liaison with other Procurement staff in relation to new products, product standardisation and product trials and evaluations.
To act as liaison between senior Procurement staff and Logistics team

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- Good general standard of education including Mathematics and English Language to GCSE Grade C or equivalent
Desirable
- Computer applications qualification
- Commercial Apprenticeship or commercial focus or business background/education
- Procurement/ Supply Chain Logistics qualifications e.g. MCIPS, MILT or ability to meet these, or equivalent relevant experience
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a comparable customer-orientated operational environment
- Minimum 3 years' experience in electronic stock control systems including materials management
- Experience of controlling stock levels.
- Experience of Inventory Management software
Desirable
- Experience of managing staff
- Experience of dealing with suppliers
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of managing materials and stock control in a large organisation
- Ability to manage the flow of goods across a large complex site
- Knowledge of policies and procedures relating the management of stock (stock rotation)
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Interpersonal skills: impact and influence
- Ability to prioritise own workload and use initiative
