This post presents a unique and exciting leadership opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to drive a forward-thinking, expanding cancer service within the Breast oncology teams at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre of excellence.
The post aligns with the opening of the new £162m Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in central Liverpool (CCC-L). CCC-L is located directly adjacent to the new Royal University Liverpool Hospital (part of Liverpool University Hospital Trusts) as well as the main UoL campus for biomedical research, thereby providing an unprecedented opportunity to integrate cutting-edge research into clinical and diagnostic cancer services.

Consultant Breast Oncologist (Clinical/Medical Oncologist)
An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified individual to join the team at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is a specialist Trust delivering treatment to patients across Cheshire and Merseyside and the Isle of Man with both solid tumour and Haemato-Oncology malignancies.
The Breast team are based across the four sectors of the region served by the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. The post will be split across 2 main sites at the brand new state-of -the-art Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool and at our Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Aintree, with an opportunity for some remote working.
We are looking for an experienced Oncologist who is enthusiastic, flexible, hard-working and a good team player. You must have existing GMC registration to apply for this role. Any candidate who is unable or does not wish to work full-time is eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content should be discussed on a personal basis with the Associate Medical Director.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full and Specialist registration (as well as a license to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview
- MRCR (or equivalent)
- Applicants who are UK trained must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by the date of interview. Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT via CESR/Article 14
Desirable
- Higher degree of PhD or MD by postgraduate thesis (or evidence of equivalent research training/experience)
- Relevant certificate of training in communication
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Experience of specialist training in the management of Breast malignancies Experience managing patients on clinical trials
- Experience of clinical audit
- Experience managing patients on clinical trials
Desirable
- Post-CCT experience in management of Breast
Teaching
Essential
- Ability to teach all grades of clinical staff, including those in training
- Experience of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates
- Experience of supervising medical trainees
