Job summary

An opportunity has a arisen for a Part-Time (27 hours per week), Medical Receptionist to join our team. The post holder will provide a comprehensive reception / admin service to our Practice population. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a GP surgery but training will be provided to the right candidate.

The post is for 27 hours per week to be worked over 3 days. Hours of work will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8am to 6pm. The post-holder will be required to cover extended hours on a Monday evening until 8pm on a rota basis.

Main duties of the job

Undertake Reception and Telephone duties, acting as the first point of contact for patients and visitors

Process Repeat Prescriptions

Scan and process electronic communications

Various administration duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice

Use SystmOne clinical system

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work as part of a team of medical receptionists to provide a comprehensive reception / administration service to the Practice population. Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a public facing role

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in a GP surgery
  • Experience in SystmOne

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of general education including Maths and English

Desirable

  • NVQ in Administration / Customer Care
