Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations within our medical practice and enhancing the patient experience.
Part Time - 20 hours per week over 4 days, shift pattern to be discussed at interview
Salary - Depending on experience
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
- Effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required.
- Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries effectively.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations.
- Process patient registrations and update information as necessary.
- Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate smooth communication regarding patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organised reception area, ensuring all materials are stocked and readily available.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry to support the overall operations of the practice.
About us
St. Martin's Gate Surgery. We are a friendly medical practice based across 2 sites. The main site is St. Martin's Gate at Turnpike House, situated at the bottom of Newtown Road. We have a branch surgery, which is located near to Tesco at St. Peter's.
We aim to offer the highest level of medical care for the whole family. Patients are free to choose which doctor they wish to see for their routine appointments.
Job responsibilities
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required.
To act as the central point of contact for patients, be responsible for the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaise with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
