A vacancy has arisen within the Reception Team at this busy GP Training/Dispensing Practice. The successful candidate will be a well-motivated team member, providing a high level of customer service and communication.

About us
We are a successful dispensing practice with the highest standards of care for approximately 16,200 patients. We have a team of over 60 staff including, GP`s, Nurses, HCA`s working along side an excellent administration and healthcare team.
The post will be 25 hour per week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8.00am and 6.30pm.
£22,000 - 23,000 FTE
Job responsibilities
1. Care Navigate patient to the most appropriate services.
2. Assess "urgent" requests for appointments and home visits and alert duty doctor where necessary.
3. Operate the Practice appointments system, booking patients into appropriate sessions held by the doctors, nurses and other health care professionals.
4. Book ambulances for patients according to the agreed procedures.
5. Assist patients to select and book hospital appointments using "E-RS Referral System".
6. Register new patients by entering all details on the EMIS computer system.
7. Update patients' medical records.
8. File patients' notes including temporary and emergency treatment records.
9. Answer patients' queries about test results and inform them of any necessary action.
10. Assist patients' in registering for the "EMIS Access" Website for online access.
11. Ensure that all messages are notified promptly to the appropriate clinical or administrative staff.
12. Contact patients' by telephone as and when requested by the doctors.
13. Deal with all enquiries from patients, hospital and other health care professionals effectively. Assist them by offering helpful information and advice as appropriate.
14. Ensure that consulting rooms are kept well equipped with necessary forms.
15. Give any necessary assistance to the practice doctors, nurses and other staff when needed, as directed by the reception manager.

Qualifications
Essential
- Must be able to interact at all levels of the organisation and deal with patients in a sensitive and professional manner.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Emis Web clinical system, however full training will be given.
