Job summary
If you have an interest in working in a laboratory setting, this is an ideal opportunity for you to take on a supporting role as part of our small admin team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust Histopathology Department.
You will need to be organised, flexible and a good team player who is able to work in a high pressured environment.
Main duties of the job
The role includes:
- Audio typing
- Data entry
- Answering telephone enquires
- Sending away and receiving laboratory material
- Filing
If you've worked within a similar environment that's great. If not, don't worry as full training will be provided. You will however need to have an interest in working within this environment, have a good eye for detail and following procedures.

Working hours are between 9am to 5pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Essential
- Has GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

- RSA III typing or audio typing skills
- knowledge of medical terminology

- Accurate word processing and spelling skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Able to work as part of a team and alone
- Has good written and verbal communication skills

- Organise, maintain and monitor Consultant diaries as necessary producing an effective and efficient record of meetings, appointments and inquests
Experience
Essential
- Clerical/office administration experience preferably within a health care environment
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages
