Main duties of the job
As Divisional Medical Director -- Mental Health Services, you will lead the medical workforce within the division, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care. You will work closely with the Divisional Clinical Director and senior management to shape service delivery, support medical staff, and improve patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
*Providing medical leadership and ensuring best clinical practice.
*Overseeing workforce planning, medical appraisals, and training.
*Driving quality improvement, governance, and patient safety initiatives.
*Developing innovative patient pathways and service strategies.
*Acting as the Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act.
We are looking for an accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist with:
*GMC registration and Approved Clinician status.
*Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
*A passion for service transformation and clinical excellence.
*Experience in workforce management and medical education.

Essential
- Full Registration with the General Medical Council
- At least 3 years' experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist or Associate Specialist or Specialist
