Job summary
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.The role will include all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Main duties of the job
- Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
- Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Developing care plans for health inconsultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
- Providing health education.
- Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
About us
We operate across four surgery sites and overall we employ over 80 staff.We have 7 partner GPs, 6 associate GPs, 2 advanced nurse practitioners, 2 PCN community paramedics and a well-established nursing team. We also benefit from PCN clinical pharmacists, a pharmacy technician, first contact physios and a team of social prescribers and care coordinators. Qualifications
Essential
- Registration and certification included in the NHSE list of Medical Practitioners per section 91 of the NHS Act 2006
- Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the General Practitioner Register.
Experience
Essential
- Be a Newly Qualified GP having obtained your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice within the last two years, verifying completion of the postgraduate training required to practice independently.
