Job summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in peoples life? As a valued member of our new NHS 111 Stockton team, you will be doing exactly that. Join us as Health Advisor, and assist our patients when they need you the most!

What you will get:

  • £12.11 per hour (7am-11pm) and £15.05 per hour (11pm-7am), with further pay enhancements of £15.58 per hour when working between Friday 18:00 to Monday 7:00am. Please note that the weekend rate is guaranteed but it is not contractual, it is just an incentive for working unsociable hours.
  • 33 days annual leave, increasing with service up to 36 days per year, including bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

As a Health Advisor, no day is the same. You will be fully trained on the NHS pathways system to assess patients over the phone and direct them to the most appropriate care. Although these are not emergency calls, youll also need to be prepared to deal with emotional, distressing or life-threatening scenarios and to arrange for 999 services if required. You will receive full support from your team and managers.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Manage calls from patients and healthcare professionals with urgent and non-urgent healthcare needs
  • Direct patients to the service suitable for their needs, using the NHS Pathways System
  • Capture patient information and refer them to the most appropriate service
  • Communicate effectively with your colleagues as well as your patients, adjusting your communication style to reassure the patient with empathy and understanding
