Job summary

We have and exciting opportunity to appoint a Nurse Specialist to support the Acute Pain Service, working out of the Recovery Unit in Main Theatres.

Managing a team of specialist Acute Pain Service (APS) nurses in the provision of inpatient acute pain management.

This post will provide the post holder with the opportunity to ensure the highest standards of clinical care by exploring clinical practice and identifying areas for further development within the Acute Pain Service and across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

You should be a registered Professional withClinical and management experience relevant to the role of a lead nurse. This might include band 6 or above level experience working in the Acute Pain Service, Recovery, Critical care or Surgical wards and a background in supporting teaching, quality improvement.

The successful candidate will be Managing a team of specialist Acute Pain Service (APS) nurses in the provision of inpatient acute pain management.

Maintaining a high standard of care, providing specialist knowledge and education to members of the multidisciplinary team.

Responsible for the management of nursing practice and standards of patient/client care, whilst promoting the values, philosophy and objectives of the trust.

You will be innovative within your approach, able to prioritise your own workload and that of others as well as having excellent communication skills. You will also demonstrate a flexible approach to working and will co-ordinate with other colleagues in multi-disciplinary teams.
