This is a 2 year secondment opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our Hambleton and Richmond Community Therapy Team.
The post will be based at the Friary Hospital in Richmond.
The post holder will be required to complete holistic assessments in patients own homes or usual place of residence, including nursing and / or residential care settings and then devise individualised therapy goals. The post holder will be required to work autonomously with support as required, to deliver therapy and rehab to the patients as part of an Intermediate Care Pathway.
Successful candidate must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role.
Main duties of the job
Working as an autonomous practitioner to conduct holistic assessments and devise, review and implement therapy plans to support individualised person centred goals.
Completion of clinical notes and any admin tasks as required
Offering support and delegation to the Therapy Assistants / Practitioners and students
Work as part of a MDT and communicate effectively with other team members and teams.

Essential
- oTo hold a degree or relevant Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- oHCPC Registration

- Attendance at the leadership and development and improvement programme (4.5 days)
Experience

- oExperience of using the OT process as a student OT
Desirable
- oPostgraduate experience in OT
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- oTo display effective communication skills, communicating complex, sensitive and contentious information to patients, carers and colleagues
- oTo demonstrate analytical skills and judgement when dealing with a range of OT problems
- oAbility to work under pressure

- oTraining/or experience in fieldwork education
