An exciting opportunity has arisen for an operations Manager to join Wigan GP Alliance. You will lead on operational management within the organisation.

The Operations Manager is integral to the organisation. It is a key senior role that will support the organisation in driving delivery and transformation enabling the organisation to progress and expand. They will provide managerial and leadership support to the Director of Operations.
We are looking for a resilient, flexible professional who is committed to ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and sustainable high-quality services.
Suitable candidates will have demonstrable and successful experience at a senior level, in a similar complex organisation or system, ideally within an NHS organisation. As an experienced manager, with operational experience, you will have a recent track record of outstanding leadership in operational management and be confident in providing visible operational leadership, management support, guidance and supervision to direct reports.
Personal attributes include resilience, flexibility, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the credibility to work collaboratively with clinicians, senior management, staff and key stakeholders across the system, to build excellent and productive relationships.

About us
Wigan GP Alliance is a well-established Primary Care provider within the Borough of Wigan and Leigh, established in 2015 to respond to the Prime Ministers Challenge Fund. The Alliance has grown to deliver its core services and extended its delivery to provide many more services and additional support for the whole Borough, reacting when required to in time of need eg Covid-19 response.
Job responsibilities
Managing the operational business day to day ensuring the Alliance is delivering the elements of support to our Primary Care Networks and Practices in the borough in line with the organisations deliverables. The post holder will be committed to undertake any other duties commensurate with the role, within their own competence.

Qualifications
Essential
- Significant experience in a management role with a good standard of general education.
Desirable
- NHS Experience
- Project management experience
- Recognised leadership / management qualifications / programme of study or equivalent.

- Experience of operational management; service strategy; business planning; performance management; demonstrable leadership ability at a senior level.

- Experience of working in primary or secondary care Recent managerial experience in related organisation

IT Skills
Essential
- Excellent IT skills with proficient knowledge and experience of MS packages. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc
- Full, clean driving licence
- DBS check will be carried out
Clinical IT system experience
Desirable
- Working knowledge and experience of clinical IT systems preferably SystmOne
