Job summary
St Luke's Hospice has an opportunity for a palliative physiotherapist to join our team on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week. This role will be on-site at Basildon and/or Thurrock Hospices and will involve some community work.
Working as an autonomous palliative physiotherapist with the AHP hospice team, you will be assessing and treating patients in our physiotherapy gym and in our inpatient units, running specialist groups.
Main duties of the job
- Working with rehabilitative support staff to assess and treat patients.
- Working with our community nursing team to ensure a smooth transfer of expertise between nursing and AHP staff.
- Supporting patients to have a "one stop shop" experience with other Hospice services.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, patients and relatives.
- Running various groups including shortness of breath, fatigue, balance and drop in gym groups.
- Visiting the community when required.
