Main duties of the job
In this essential role, you will ensure the smooth running of the surgery, providing patients with a positive experience while supporting our team to deliver outstanding care. We understand how important your role is and will value your contributions every step of the way.

Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and visitors, managing check-ins, and providing appointment information.
- Answering phone calls and handling patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Scheduling and managing appointments using our system.
- Processing prescription requests from patients and pharmacies.
- Handling patient queries in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and letters, with accuracy.
- Keeping the reception area tidy and ensuring smooth handovers for colleagues.
- Completing administrative tasks such as patient registrations and updates.

About Minehead Medical Centre
Since 1990, Minehead Medical Centre has provided healthcare services to its community. It is the only GP service in the area. The other two GP surgeries are located much further out on the outskirts. The patient list size is 12,330 with a slightly higher number of ageing population when compared to the rest of Somerset.In recent years, Minehead Medical Centre has undergone refurbishment works to provide additional clinical rooms on the ground floor.
In February 2024, OneMedical Group took over Minehead Medical Centre and are supporting the teamto deliver excellent care to the patients and communities around Minehead. The Medical Centre is a central hub in the town, with a team as close-knit as the rest of Mineheads population.

- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in handling patient information.
- Confidence in using IT systems and basic office software.
