Job summary

The delivery and support of digital technology at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is fundamental in enabling staff to provide excellent and safe patient care.

The Trust has invested significantly in digital technology and the rapid increase of electronic patient record systems being deployed has created greater need for further Patient Systems resource to provide first line support to service users.

Would you like to increase your existing knowledge of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust's electronic patient systems, develop specialist patient system skills and be part of a team providing excellent customer service to end users across the HDFT organisation?

Please note, there are 2 roles available, both fixed term until 31/03/2026.

Main duties of the job

The post requires an efficient, caring and proactive individuals with an appreciation and understanding of the confidential nature of the work.

Applicants will be providing first line support and assistance for using helpdesk software to patient systems service users, (full training on patient systems and helpdesk software will be provided) . The successful candidates should be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, be excellent communicators with good IT and telephone skills and have the ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis whilst maintaining a positive approach, and providing a quality service that supports our patient care.

This is an exciting opportunity for two enthusiastic, customer focussed individuals to join the Patient Systems Team and support both business-as-usual and ongoing projects. You will provide specialist knowledge and support to system users, be committed to service delivery and continual customer focussed improvement.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • A good standard of general education to GCSE level (5 GCSE grade A*-C) or equivalent

Desirable

  • ECDL or equivalent qualification or expereince

Experience

Essential

  • Previous systems experience
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and challenging deadlines

Desirable

  • NHS experience
  • Patient systems experience

Knowledge

Essential

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Computer literate & numerate
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
