Job summary

Bury St Edmunds Primary Care Network (PCN) is looking for a self-motivated and disciplined individual to join our team as PCN manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the PCN clinical director, our 5 GP practice's and our various PCN team members to coordinate, streamline and shape the strategic and operational aspects of the PCN.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the effective operational management of the PCN, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities in collaboration with the network practices.
  • Collaborate with the PCN clinical director, practice managers and PCN teams to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and efficient use of resources.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational systems and processes to improve patient outcomes, access to care and service integration.
  • Monitor and manage budgets and financial performance across the PCN, ensuring that services are delivered within budget and resources are effectively allocated.
  • Generate system reports when required for service performance audits.
  • Facilitate and coordinate communication between member practices, ensuring collaboration and sharing of best practices.
  • Represent the PCN in external meetings and liaise with partners are required.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training and development of PCN staff, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their roles.
  • Manage HR related functions such as appraisals, performance management and employee relations. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all within the PCN, promoting a positive work culture.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Proven leadership experience in healthcare operations, HR and business management.
  • Strong understanding of NHS primary care operations, financial oversight and service delivery models.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of data protection, quality improvement and governance frameworks.
  • Strong IT skills including proficiency in healthcare systems and reporting tools.
