Job summary

Cheshire Phlebotomy Services - 7 day working pattern Monday-Sunday

37.5 hr post - mon -fri 08.45 - 17.00

BAND 2 £23,615 pro rata.

Base site is: Leighton Hospital (including GP localities - direct access)

CDC is positioned at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich, other clinic locations are CWMH & Knutsford Community Hospital.

Cheshire phlebotomy services (CPS) provide phlebotomy services at multiple venues including Leighton Hospital, Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford Community Hospital, Congleton war memorial hospital, Victoria Infirmary Northwich, and all Direct Access Localities.

The successful applicant will be asked to cover at all service locations, should the business require it.

Current position available is:

1 x 37.5 Hours - positioned at Leighton Hospital, VIN and surrounding clinics, which include Knutsford Community Hospital and Congleton War Memorial Hospital.

Working 37.5 hours per week over 7 day rota.

Working pattern on a standard week: Monday-Friday 08.45 - 17.00 (occasional weekend sessions per month (rota basis)

The aim of the advert is to seek a candidate to appoint these hours to.

The candidates must have Full UK driving licence and have the use of a car for travel. This is an essential aspect of this role, and if this can't be met - candidates need not apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is required for the collection of venous blood samples for pathological analysis.

The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team when required.

They will be asked to liaise with other health care professionals, clinicians, laboratory staff, patients and/or their representatives, both in person and over the telephone.

The role involves handling biological samples that may contain pathogenic micro-organisms; therefore, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to when undertaking blood sampling according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and the policies and procedures of the department, especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality.

The post holder must be able to support the department in multiple venues, when required.

The post holder must have access to a road worthy vehicle and a clean Full UK driving licence. Your car insurance should include business cover.

Use of a vehicle and a UK driving licence is an essential aspect of the role; therefore, please do not apply if you do not have the essential criteria.

The post will be based in Leighton Hospital and surrounding clinics.

Base Sites in CPS are Leighton Hospital and Macclesfield District General Hospital.
