Job summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining blood samples using both basic and advanced phlebotomy techniques. This role requires excellent patient interaction skills, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients.

Main duties of the job

The role involves working across various healthcare locations in Hull. The successful candidate must be able to travel between sites based on the needs of the service. Hours: The service operates from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week. The candidate must be available to work flexible shifts, including late finishes and weekends, as part of a rotational schedule.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 2 in Health and Social care or able to demonstrate equivalent level of knowledge, skill and experience
  • Care Certificate or willingness to work towards this as part of the induction process
  • Basic Phlebotomy training

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of confidentiality in the context of Health and Social Care
  • Experience prioritising own work
  • Understanding of basic IT

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working in a health care environment
  • Phlebotomy

Desirable

  • Experience of working with in a human service role
