Job summary
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity to join the Band 5 Physiotherapy rotation on the Isle of Wight.
This post comprises of a total of seven rotations including Orthopaedics, MSK, Surgical, Medical, Stroke, Falls and Community Rehab. This will allow successful applicants to get a comprehensive grounding in the varied physiotherapy disciplines and gain invaluable experience along the way.
Each rotation is six months long and you will be working alongside experienced Physiotherapists and other members of the multi disciplinary team. The job is based solely on the Isle of Wight and offers an excellent work life balance on our beautiful Island.
The rotation for the successful candidate with start either with MSK or the Acute Physio team and this will be discussed at offer stage.
Main duties of the job
To independently perform physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations, complex physical and psychological conditions and to provide a diagnosis to develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme
To independently hold responsibility for own caseload within the rotation and be responsible for independently maintaining associated records with support of a designated senior clinician. Supervision taking the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, with support from senior clinicians.
To assist in the supervision, education and assessment of performance of physiotherapy students
To be responsible for maintaining own professional development as well as undertaking evidence-based audit and projects to further own and team's clinical practice within each rotation, making recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registration
- Broad understanding of the overall core principles of physiotherapy
- Awareness of NHS Government and stakeholder requirements
Desirable
- Post graduate education relevant to core clinical area mentioned in knowledge section
Experience
Essential
- Basic core clinical experience gained through student clinical placements
- Clinical reasoning/evidenced based practice
- Knowledge of audit
Desirable
- NHS Experience in most of the core clinical areas such as Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Respiratory and Rehabilitation.
- Some experience of communication in complex circumstances
