Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join our Award-winning Emergency Department. Through facilitation, education and training, the post holder supports clinical practice in the maintenance of high standards of patient care in response to service needs. Acts as a resource to support professional development of staff. Improves practice based upon evidence and research thereby enabling new skills and competencies to be introduced that will enhance the quality of care delivered to the patients. Support the Matron and senior management team in managing both clinical and professional development issues concerning patients within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Through facilitation, education and training, supports clinical practice in the maintenance of high standards of patient care in response to service needs. The post holder will act as a resource to support professional development of staff , improving practice based upon evidence and research thereby enabling new skills and competencies to be introduced, that will enhance the quality of care delivered to children. The post holder will support the Matron and senior management team in managing both clinical and professional development issues concerning children and young people within the Trust.

Experience
Essential
- A minimum experience of 4 years in a Band 6 post within UEC.
- Evidence of continuing education and study essential.
- Extensive and recent experience and knowledge of Emergency nursing
- Ability to provide evidence of facilitating learning in practice.
- Ability to provide evidence of applying theory to practice and improving the patient experience.
- Competent and confident in a range of clinical skills; central lines, NIV, medication administration, etc.
- Management skills

- Experience of leading a team Classroom teaching experience
- Experience of working with a range of different learners
- Previous experience of managing a team
Knowledge
Essential

Qualifications and training
Essential
- RSCN / RN Child Degree / post Registration equivalent (or evidence of near completion of post registration degree)
- ENB 998 / Mentoring / Assessor in Practice qualification.
- Evidence of previous teaching /Educational delivery
- EPLS/ APLS
Desirable
- Teaching qualification. Attained or Working towards Masters Degree relevant to Nursing.
- Professional Nurse Advocate
- Evidence of formal leadership training
- Diploma in Management
- PG cert in clinical education/lecturing and teaching or NMC lecturer Practitioner qualification.
- Coaching qualification.
