We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Practice Manager to join our autism service. This role will work closely with the Head of Autism Service to support our assessing clinicians, core co-ordinators and wider team, optimise service delivery, and drive growth while maintaining exceptional quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring proven people management expertise and a commitment to supporting neurodivergent individuals.
Main duties of the job
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive operational management for the autism assessment service
Support clinical staff with administrative requirements, enabling them to focus on delivering high-quality assessments
Work collaboratively with the Head of Autism Service to develop strategic plans for growth and service improvement
Manage staff scheduling, workload distribution, and resource allocation
Implement and maintain efficient administrative systems and processes
Monitor service performance metrics and implement improvements where needed
Lead recruitment, induction, and retention initiatives for clinical and support staff
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies
Foster a positive workplace culture that values staff wellbeing and professional development
Manage budget and resources effectively
Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for service-related enquiries

Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Proven experience in a similar service management or practice management role
Demonstrated success in people management with evidence of team development and retention
Experience working within healthcare, clinical or therapeutic services
Strong understanding of service delivery processes and optimisation
Excellent organizational and administrative capabilities
Experience in managing budgets and resources
Proficiency with relevant IT systems and administrative tools
Ability to work collaboratively with clinical professionals
Understanding of regulatory frameworks in healthcare/clinical settings
Desirable:
Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions and neurodevelopmental services
Experience within mental health or disability services
Qualifications in healthcare management, business administration, or related field
Experience in service development and growth management
Understanding of NHS or private healthcare operational frameworks
Previous experience supporting multidisciplinary teams
