GP Practice in North London looking to recruit an experienced Receptionist/Administrator to join the team: 1 year experience (essential)

Main duties of the job

Main duties:

*To direct incoming patient calls and confirm appointments with the relevant practitioner

*Be able to book/cancel patient appointments, input patient data on the system, general administration duties

*You will also be responsible for recalling patients back to practice when required, chasing results from hospitals

*Be able to do E-referrals

*Be able to Register Patients

*Be able to do Repeat prescriptions

*Be flexible, reliable and professional

*You must be able to cope with difficult patients in an efficient manner while still maintaining a high level of professionalism

*Make sure Incoming post is opened, date stamped and distributed appropriately and ensuring outgoing post is sent daily

*Be able to arrange transport for patients, including emergency transport arrangements

*Strong IT skills including Word and Excel EMIS-WEB

*Be aware of external organisations and their relationship with the practice e.g. Camden Federation Hub

*Be happy to undergo a DBS check or have a DBS certificate dated within a year

About us

We are currently holding a Good CQC rating in our Primrose Hill Surgery. Due to increased patient demand, we are looking for an enthusiastic Administrative Receptionist to join our friendly team.

This position combines both Medical Receptionist and Administrator duties and will require you to work independently and as part of a team.

We use the EMIS clinical system, as well as EConsult, AccuRx and Docman

Job responsibilities

Mon - Fri 14:00 till 18.30

Administration:

To work in a manner conforming with written Protocols

To have a good understanding of the practice procedures

Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records

Registration of new patients

Input of data into patients records

Face to Face meeting and greeting of patients

Providing a good standard of patient service in person and over the phone

Triage Patients appropriately

Process appointment requests for today/future appointments from patients by telephone and in person

To open post and to deliver any private and confidential post to the practice manager

To replenish clinicians rooms on a daily basis

To monitor stock quantity on a monthly basis

To monitor the expiration of any stock

To take logs of essential appliances in accordance with the schedule

Other Tasks:

Any other tasks allocated by managers

Person specification:

Education: GCSE English or equivalent essential

Experience with/or qualification in IT- desirable/Experience

Working in a customer-facing role

Previous experience of working with others as a team

Experience with EMIS is essential.

To be able to work independently and in a team
