Job summary
We are looking to recruit a new member of staff to join our great team of Receptionists/Administrators.
The successful candidate will be entered into the NHS Pension Scheme.
You will be working alongside experienced members of the team. We use EMIS Web clinical system and although knowledge of this system would be preferred, this is not essential as full training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to undertake the following duties:
- Man Reception
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing telephone calls
- Booking appointments
- Scanning incoming letters onto patients records
- Responsible for the upkeep of patient records
- Filing
- Printing repeat prescription requests
- Assisting colleagues when requested
All members of the team must act professionally and courteously at all times
About us
We have 2 GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Specialist Nurse, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner and 8 Administrators who work closely to ensure the smooth running of the Practice.
We are located in Flint, close to the Town centre.
Job responsibilities
Computer and keyboard skills are essential for this post.
The ability to use EMIS web system is desirable, however full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Answering incoming calls from patients and documenting the information on their medical records. Also assisting their medical needs such as making appointments with a relevant clinical member of the team, giving out blood results, assisting with any queries they may have.
Being punctual and professional in manner.
You will be responsible for opening and closing the building each day along with your colleagues.
Taking fridge temperatures twice daily in line with cold chain protocol.
Printing out repeat prescription requests ensuring that they are due.
Monitoring incoming emails received into the Enquiries box.
All incoming post/emails relating to patients are scanned onto the patients records and forwarded onto the relevant clinician (GP on duty that day).

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE C or above or equivalent in English and Maths
- Basic knowledge of computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable
- Previous experience of working in a GP Practice
- NVQ Level 2 in either Communication or Administration
- Emis Web Read coding
- Good understanding of medical terminology
- Summarising of medical records
Knowledge and skills

- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Be reliable and punctual
- Trustworthy and honest
Desirable
- Basic IT skills
- Previous knowledge of EmisWeb Clinical System
Experience
