Job summary
Caradoc Surgery in Frinton on Sea is looking for a receptionist/administrator to join their busy reception team. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 25 hours per week, working the following shifts:
Monday 07:45-13:15
Tuesday 07:45-18:45 (1hr lunch)
Friday 07:45-18:45 (1hr lunch)
In this role you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community. We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service.
Main duties of the job
- Greeting and directing patients.
- Patient registration.
- Booking appointments.
- Processing of information (electronic and hard copy).
- Assisting patients as required which may include distributing information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team.
- Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

The PCN comprises of Ranworth Surgery in Clacton on Sea, Green Elms Health Centre in Jaywick, Kennedy Way Medical Centre in Holland on Sea and Caradoc Surgery in Frinton on Sea. We have a diverse patient population of around 32,000 patients and all practices work on SystmOne.

Experience
Essential
- Ideally previous medical/healthcare receptionist experience.
- You will have excellent communication skills with a clear and polite telephone manner.
- You will work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times.
- You will have experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
- You will be confident to work as part of a team and be able to think on your feet independently.
- Strong IT and administration skills.
- Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional/alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
