Would you like to become part of our compassionate team to provide care and support to our patients and their families in the In patient unit at St Lukes Hospice.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Nurse to join our friendly In-Patient Unit team in Basildon to gain knowledge and experience within Palliative Care.

This opportunity is to work rotational long days and night shifts.

Main duties of the job

As a Registered Nurse in our In-Patient Unit at Basildon, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of excellent,high-quality care, coordinating with other healthcare professionals, assisting with patient admissions and discharges, and adhering to nursing standards and best practices. You should have a current nursing registration and previous experience in a healthcare setting. Key traits for success in this role are excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Job responsibilities

Main responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent high-quality patient care
  • Coordinating with doctors and other healthcare professionals
  • Managing patient admissions and discharges
  • Caring for patients at end of life
  • Maintaining nursing documentation and patient records (SystmOne)
  • Participating in staff meetings and continuous education opportunities

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
