Job summary
This role is for a Registered Nurse to work nights at Avery Healthcare's care home in Wandsworth Common. The nurse will be responsible for leading the care team, ensuring high standards of care for the residents, and acting as the person in charge during the night shift.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse at Avery Healthcare, your focus will be to act as the person in charge, standing in for the Manager as required and observing all instructions to act upon their behalf. You will ensure high standards of care for our residents by undertaking nursing tasks such as medication distribution, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding, and management of chronic medical conditions. You will also be responsible for advising families and GPs of any changes in residents' conditions, as well as effectively deploying and supervising the care team to ensure all tasks are completed during your shift.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your focus asa Registered Nursewill beto act as person in charge,standingin for the Manager asrequiredandobserveall instructions to act upon his/her behalfwhilst youensurehigh standardsof care toourresidents.
Other responsibilitieswillinclude:
- Undertakingnursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
- Advisingfamilies of residents andGPsof any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
- Responsibilityfor the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
- Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

Our ideal candidatemust:
- Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
- Demonstrate a minimum 2 years experience and up to date knowledge of care,supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualification.
- Display goodinterpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities.
- Have sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.

Qualifications
Essential
- To be successful in this role, you must hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration. You should also have a minimum of 2 years' experience and up-to-date knowledge of care, supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualifications. Additionally, you should display good interpersonal skills and the ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities, as well as sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.
