Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Staff Nurse's to join our friendly and dynamic Respiratory Team. The Respiratory Unit is a 56 Bedded ward which includes an 11 bedded Respiratory Support Unit. In line with the Trust Vision to provide the "Best Care for Everyone." The successful applicant will be working alongside their colleagues to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.

We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate nurses with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join us. You will be part of an innovative multidisciplinary team who strive to deliver outstanding care with patient safety and experience at the heart of what we do.

Experience within this speciality of Respiratory Medicine is not essential. We would like to hear from you if you would like to broaden your knowledge & enhance your clinical skills in a speciality that is rapidly developing

Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for caring for acute Respiratory patients ensuring the accurate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will have the opportunity to work towards completing the Enhanced Care Level One National Framework competencies. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to development and education, always seeking to provide evidence-based person-centred care in line with both national and local guidelines

Main duties of the job

12 months Fixed Term or 12 months Secondment Opportunity

We are looking for registered nurse's who can deliver compassionate, professional, and effective person centred care. Practice will be evidence based and they will be able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

The Role:

Working within our team you will have the opportunity to experience the acute phase of illness in Respiratory Medicine caring for patients who require treatments such as Non-Invasive Ventilation.

You must be a Registered Nurse with a keen interest in acute medicine

Possess excellent communication skills

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Enhanced IT skills
  • Act as a resource for all staff disseminating clinical skills and knowledge
  • Ensure personal and professional development is progressed through appraisal
  • Demonstrate understanding of research-based practice, and participate as required in audit
  • Demonstrates ability to use clinical reasoning skills and techniques to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care
  • Experience within an Acute Clinical Setting

Desirable

  • Enhanced levels of dexterity and accuracy pertaining to clinical skills. e.g. Administration of intravenous injections, cannulation, phlebotomy, CVC skills.
  • Holds a teaching or mentorship qualification
  • Experience in caring for Acute Respiratory Patients
