The company is seeking a passionate and qualified Second Chef to join their team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional hospitality standards.

Main duties of the job

As the Second Chef at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus. You will assist the Head Chef in menu development and work closely with residents to tailor the menu to their preferences. The role offers a work-life balance with a 30-hour per week shift pattern, including alternate weekend working. You will be responsible for managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation, and creating a warm and efficient environment for the team.

After our 2022 refurbishment, Tewkesbury Fields Care Home has undergone a remarkable transformation, creating a refined, tranquil, and welcoming atmosphere for both residents and staff. With the addition of our new community, we are expanding significantly and seeking passionate individuals to join us in making our home a benchmark of excellence.

Shift Pattern: 30 hours per week 7am-5pm, 3 x 10 hour shifts, alternate weekend working required.

Are you a qualified Chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter? You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. Qualifications

Essential

  • You will need to hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, as well as have a good understanding of nutrition and experience working with fresh, seasonal food. Strong communication skills, a personable and warm approach, and the ability to create a welcoming environment are also essential.
