Main duties of the job
As a Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the long hours and split shifts typically associated with the industry. You will work closely with the Head Chef to develop and implement nutritious, well-balanced menus, tailored to the preferences of the residents. The role requires a personable and warm approach, as well as experience in working with fresh produce and a good understanding of nutrition and HACCP. You will be responsible for managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, as well as assisting with menu development, stock control, and regular audits. - The successful candidate must hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, and have a good understanding of nutrition and experience working with fresh, seasonal food.
