Job summary
The procurement and sustainability team at AGH have a new and exciting opportunity within their team maintaining and renewing catalogue contracts.
The Procurement team pride themselves on providing excellent customer service to their customers and we aspire to be the best we can be, assisting clinical areas in providing the best clinical care to patients and users within the hospital and community.
We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, confident and has good analytical skills, negotiation and communication skills and be computer literate on basic software systems such as Microsoft Office.
This position is not currently eligible for a certificate of sponsorship in line with Home Office guidance as it does not appear on the skilled worker visa occupation list.

Main duties of the job
Providing a high quality professional Procurement service to Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and other partners ensuring compliance with legislation, national and local policies.
Promoting across both Trust Board, supports the Purchasing Manager with all strategic procurement issues with a view to maximising the savings potential across the patch with more efficient and effective purchasing arrangements with a contribution to both Trust's non-pay expenditure.
Supports the Purchasing Manager with the development of the purchasing team, specifically by:
- Increasing purchasing coverage to all key areas of non-pay spend
- Working with Managers/Budget Holders in the identification of savings opportunities monitoring and reporting progress as required.
- Promoting the strategic direction of the purchasing team by attendance and participation in service-wide key working groups.
- Support the implementation of the new Contracts Register and Tendering Portal 'Atamis'
Supports the Purchasing Manager by focussing effort towards reducing clinical risk by developing future product standardisation and adopting formal category management approach with purchasing expertise over specialist commodity knowledge.

Qualifications
Essential
- A good level of general education
- Professional qualifications to NVQ 3 Procurement or NVQ 3 Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
Desirable
- Degree level or equivalent standard of education
Experience
Essential
- Experience at a supervisor's level.
- Good experience in delivering cost reduction savings
- Good analytical skills and mathematical orientation
- Experience of working and developing tender specifications
- Experience in using a purchase to pay system, such as Oracle.
Desirable
- Substantial experience at a supervisor's level within an NHS Procurement environment
- Experience of recruitment/selection
- Ability to use/develop use of common software packages i.e. Microsoft Office
