Job summary

We are looking to fill the role of Senior Clinical Board Accountant in the Clinical Diagnostics and Therapeutics Team. This is an important role within the finance team, providing Business Partnering support to a diverse and exciting group of directorates.

The successful post holder will report to the Assistant Finance Business Partner.

Main duties of the job

This post will work closely with the Clinical Board to ensure efficient use of financial resources, and to identify (and help implement) value-based decision making and the use of benchmarking.

Qualifiactions

Essential

  • CCAB Professionally Qualified Accountant (or equivalent Band 7 experience).
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Experience

Essential

  • Significant finance experience within the NHS, Public or Private Sector
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, financial aspects of NHS legislation and NHS finance policies
  • Ability to deal with complicated situations
  • Experience of managing people and teams
  • Knowledge and experience of NHS financial management and business and strategic planning

Desirable

  • Experience in the NHS

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, interpretational and comparative skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work on multiple complex tasks simultaneously and produce high quality work within tight deadlines and within resource constraints
  • IT literate with the ability to us Microsoft products, including advanced level of Excel spreadsheets
